Red Star K9 is devoted to helping dogs and their families across the valley to reach their training goals through relationship and communication based training methods. We also strive to keep our business practices as honest and ethical as possible. We believe no business that isn't honest and upfront can thrive for long.  

What does Being an Ethical Business Mean To Us?
 

Being an ethical business means being upfront and honest about our abilities and what reasonable expectations for training goals are. Many dog training companies love to make big, good sounding promises to help sell their business. The harm comes later when, once training is complete, those unrealistic or sometimes even completely unachievable goals are still not achieved. At Red Star K9 we understand that not every dog is capable of everything, and that's okay. We fix what we can, and create alternatives for what can't be fixed.

How Does Relationship Based Training Work?

Relationship based training works because it focuses on building your dog's obedience skills through your relationship. Rather than learning to rely on a tool or a treat you will learn how to build a relationship and establish an effective communication strategy with your dog. Leading to training that lasts a lifetime.

Meet The Person Behind Red Star K9

Azure And Adrenaline 2025

Azure has been training dogs their entire life. Their love for dogs stems from their mother who trained service dogs, as well as showed English Mastiffs in confirmation.  This love grew exponentially thanks to their first dog, Dash, a rescue Border Collie mix who Azure trained to the point of receiving trick dog and CGC tittles. The two of them also enjoyed just for fun agility in their back yard. Now Azure competes in frisbee with their Australian Cattle Dog, Adrenaline, as they continue to learn and grow together.

Azure has spent over half a decade working for some of the top dog trainers in the state. There they learned multiple methods and tools for training all breeds and temperaments of dogs. Azure also constantly seeks continued education through training clubs, seminars, books and more. Azure's goal is to create a different type of training business. One based in honesty, humility and trust where the dog's best interest comes first.
